Personality:
Usually cold and emotionally confused. She can't really show people what she feels, or rather, she has trouble doing so. But she acts differently when she's around the people she knows or likes, which is either rude, obedient or really shy and quiet.
History:
She's a child of the former Hamazaki family. She had a twin sister that she never knew of since they were separated a few months after birth since reason being, her parents can't afford raising two children at the same time, and that it was a bad omen.
Hamazaki Family Murder
As time passed, Her father’s business started to decline steadily which lead to a hard lived life. Her father, being a man with such high expectations, couldn’t take the lost and bankruptcy lost his wits and started to lose his mental stability. At age 6, her father went on a rampage one night and started killing everyone in their house. In attempt to stop him, Aoki’s mother got murdered by her father. Her father turned to her afterwards and attempted to also kill her, but Aoki killed him instead.
Aoki’s young mind couldn’t take a trauma, making her unable to express herself properly and unable to accept relationships that well. Also, the shock made her forgot that she was the one who killed her father and thought that her father is still alive. Having noone to take her in, and no one wanting to take her in, she started wandering around, searching for her father who killed her mother, and she thought was still alive. She also started using her mother’s maiden name instead of her father’s.
Mercenary Days
Taking one of her mother’s kodachis with her, Aoki wandered about and was found by a mercenary. The mercenary tried on selling her as a slave, but Aoki fought back making the mercenary have more interest in her. He took her in and taught her how to kill people, and use the sword. However, the mercenary tried to take advantage of her, and she resisted. Finding no use for her anymore, the mercenary threw her away at the age of 8.
Itami Jiko
For 2 years, Aoki went back to wondering by herself from town to town, living off with scraps and things she can find to eat (bugs and stuff, no preference as long as she finds it edible.). One day, a young man of 16 saw her as other kids were bullying her for her dirty and scatted appearance. When she was about to attack them, this young man picked her up by her haori collar, looked at the kids who were bullying her and scared them away. He turned back to Aoki and smiled at her. This young man introduced himself as Itami Jiko.
At first, Aoki was doubtful of that man that carries a name of painful accidents. But he didn’t let her off his sights, and gave her something good to eat despite not knowing who she really is. In the end, she resigned herself and agreed to get adopted by him as his daughter. (However, Aoki didn’t like playing the roles; thus, they don’t act as father and daughter at all).
Itami took her home to meet his father and older sister and was openly accepted in the household. Itami’s older sister, Minami, who was 10 years older than Itami taught Aoki ways of the household and acted as her surrogate mother. However, even with all the hospitality, Aoki wasn’t really able to open up to them. Until she learned of something grave on Itami’s missing eye. (see Itami Jiko’s SDL profile )
EyeBall Collecting, SDL, and Fireoth Kunachi
After an understanding of Itami’s case, Aoki ran away from the household and only to return with eyeballs, thinking that it would make Itami feel better and forget his past. However, Itami didn’t really approve of this and made her promise not to do it again. A few weeks after this incident, Aoki started to open up little by little to Itami (though not really in a polite way), and they started to travel again, to help Aoki search for her father.
In one of their travels, Aoki fought with a man who tried tricking them into paying his ramen bill ( See SDL duel 01 ) and bumped to a blind woman and accidentally kissed her at the fall. She was Fireoth Kunachi. Aoki found a bit of resemblance with Fireoth and her mother, and made her join them with their travels. And through Fireoth, Aoki got to know of SDL. Thinking that she might find her father there, she joined in—dragging Itami along with her.
Body Scars
Aoki was a battered child when she was younger, and there was not much she could have done about it. Most of her body scars are gained from her father's battering and the training/abuse she got from the mercenary that picked her up.
These scars(and bruises) covers most of her limbs and torso, and makes her feel disgusted with herself-- thus she covers them up whenever she can. (though usually she forgets about them when in fighting stupor.). The biggest scar she refrains people from seeing is the one that goes over her right chest, extending all the way to her stomach (reason why she has chest bandages). This scar was from her father's last attempt to kill her. Also, because of this scar, she doesn't have a right boob
Gender Preferences and Psychological Impairment
The trauma and the build-up of bad experiences during her childhood days made Aoki psychologically and mentally unstable. Thus, every time someone angers her or when she’s depressed, she easily snaps and tries to kill anyone or everyone she sees along the way, whether they have or not have any connection with the said frustrating event.
Aoki also looks up to her mother and will drag anyone who would bear a resemblance with her mother, no matter how small or big this resemblance may be. But, because of this, because of her mental and psychological disparity, she can’t differentiate admiration to intimacy. And because of her twisted logic, she tends to dominate these people she finds resemblance to her mother and force herself onto them, in literally and figuratively.
Education and Fight Style
Despite being psychologically and mentally impaired, Aoki has a love to learn new things. This is why she was so happy when Itami agreed to teach her academics, arts and languages—since she was deprived of this during the previous part of her life. Her aptitude for learning is high and she’s a fast learner.
Aoki doesn’t really have any specific sword style, however, she usually use the most effective way of fighting against her enemy, also making use of her skill in agility to take a fight to her hands—taking an advantage of her small build and lack of height.
During her mercenary days, she was taught to use dual daggers. However, since she only has one kodachi, she uses both sheath and sword to fight with it. Her name spread in SDL, and was known to strip and disrobe her opponents, especially females, to humiliate them and take the upper hand. While doing the same to male opponents, she tends to threaten them more. She is also known as a crazed, psycho dueler
The Blazing Haori and Yellow Obi
Aoki haori and obi is formerly from her mother's favorite kimono. Aoki took it after she had gathered a bit of her wits after the murder of her mother and the death of her father, as a reminder of her and her inability to protect her. However, during her mercenary days, the mercenary who took her in found it and ripped the kimono apart. Aoki repaired what's left of it and ended up looking like a sleeveless haori instead. These two items are really important to Aoki and won't let anyone touch it nor damage it.
However, after knowing Itami's history, she secretly cut a part of the obi and gave it--- to Itami to use as a scarf, as well as giving him her trust.
Random Facts
Before her 12th duel with Kaiishi , Aoki accidentally saw Fireoth and Eto doing something she didn’t expect of, making her cut her ankle-long hair.
Aoki doesn’t call anyone by their given names. She calls them by nicknames (e.g. idiot denotes to almost anyone, Frog face denotes to Sketch-kun and more). The only people that she has a tendency to call by name are ultimately Fireoth (Faifai) and Itami (Icchan). She can't call Herei by his name... at all.
Aoki wouldn’t really hurt anyone that is younger than her. This is because she doesn’t want them to experience what she had experience when she was younger. Unless on a state of mental and psychological confusion, she wouldn’t really attack them.
Aoki has a liking of eating ramen and ice cream.
The only people who can make Aoki act her age or younger is Itami, his sister ,Furor’s mother, and Herei
Her pet pig, Food, was named by Furor. And she (yes, the pig is FEMALE) won her on her 11th duel, with Sketch-kun.
She's currently engaged to Herei. ( Jiji's sister's fault. )
